I have authored four books and own a cheese and wine pairing app. I am also an experienced public speaker/lecturer/educator. I am semi-fluent in Spanish and French. Well traveled. I am thoroughly familiar with food and beverage and am an expert on cheese. I won a James Beard Award for my second book. Won Best Book on Cheese in 20 years of the Gourmand Cookbook Awards, am a Cavaleiro in the Confraria dos Viños Portos and am a Maître Fromager in the Guilde Internationale des Fromagers Saint-Uguzon. I am the Director of Cheese Studies at the Institute of Culinary Education. I also sit on the Board of Directors of the American Cheese Society. I launched a cheese and wine pairing app in 2014 - Max McCalman's Cheese and Wine Pairing App, on itunes. I am a Guest Educator for Cheese Journeys.
