I have a B.A. in English and recently graduated with honors from San Francisco State University with an M.A. in Geography. I am available to work immediately and have previous administrative and financial experience, and I take pride in providing excellent customer service. I am currently an adjunct geography professor at City College of San Francisco where I teach a diverse student population, both ethnically and socioeconomically. There are few full-time teaching opportunities in my field, and I would like to transition into corporate or nonprofit administration. I am an excellent writer, proofreader, and editor and I like to write about social and environmental justice issues. I have strong communication and research skills and gave a presentation on my master’s thesis at the 2013 Association of American Geographers Annual Meeting in Los Angeles. Additionally, I worked at the State Bar of California for four years as an Administrative Assistant in the Legal Specialization Department assisting the director and staff, maintaining databases, preparing agenda items for advisory commission and board meetings, composing correspondence, and administering the legal specialization exam. I have also been an account analyst at the Charles Schwab Trust Company where I administered 401(k) plans to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, monitored daily trades and cash flow, and prepared disbursements from client accounts, including large wire transfers. These positions required confidentiality and precise communication with staff, attorneys, clients, and the general public. I’m a native Spanish speaker and have proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint), SPSS statistical software, ArcGIS geographical software, Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere), Salesforce and Raiser’s Edge, HTML, SQL database commands, and social media platforms. I am detail-oriented, and I can prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work well both independently and as a team member.
