Sungmy is a professional industrial designer, socially conscious design strategist, and young illustrator active in NYC. She studied industrial design and worked in Fursys Inc. as a senior seating designer. While six years of working in Fursys, she played a key role as a design lead. One of her products "Ringo" has won multiple design awards, and its sales skyrocketed fifty times greater than other products in the company. She also has taught design thinking and upholstery technic to new employees. Based on her interest in social issues and designer's responsibility, she moved to New York to study design strategy, system thinking, design methods with pursuing Master's Degree in Transdisciplinary Design at Parsons School of Design. She uses design as a tool to recover the humanity in our everyday lives and to empower the underserved communities. She is interested in social justice and sustainability.
