Greetings! My name is Rishmah Farid and I am a freelance writer and content developer seeking to make an impact in global humanitarian efforts and strategy. I love covering wide range of topics such as empowering women and children, poverty and income inequality, environmental issues, nutrition, mental illnesses, the healing powers of animals and pets, alternative healing and medicine, the refugee crisis, and the necessary connection of mind and body for humans. I have always been very interested in fitness from a young age and even lost 24 pounds all by myself at age 16 creating my own meal and workout plans. I also practice yoga and meditation on a daily basis. I have interned at a nonprofit organization Long Island Wins advocating for The New York Dream Act and shifting to sensible immigration policies that would benefit everyone. I have also attended the National Model United Nations April 2016 Conference and performed as a delegate under the United Nations Enviornmental Program (UNEP) representing a specific country while conducting intensive research in developing position papers on topics such as plastic debris in the worlds oceans, deforestation and sustainable forest management practices to corruption in environmental governance. I've also taken courses on international studies such as Political Economy of the Third World, Global Economy in the 20th Century, International Relations and Global South. I am fluent English, Farsi (Persian), and Urdu. I am flexible, adaptable and resourceful. I have great interpersonal skills and I am a hard worker. My goal is to share my knowledge, wisdom and experiences as a tool for all whom can gain from it and look forward to empowering as many people as I can through my writing.
