Hello. My name is Margarita Alarcon, I am a well spoken and organized person with wonderful human -connection -admin skills. I have worked in human services for my career lifetime which have given me experience in communicating for then and with them in local, state and federal programs. I have worked as an advocate for health care, community organizer focusing on immigration issues, food pantry coordinator and outreach manager on Long Island. Currently I work in foster care, in a voluntary agency, writing home studies and certifying people to become foster parents for New York State in Suffolk and Nassau County, NY. I have keen administrative skills, manage time as best as possible to achieve program and project goals. I work filled with energy, humor and a sense of professionalism in whatever task is at hand, and stay focused to finishing the job. I know my way around technology and if I ever get stuck, I know to how to figure out plan B to Z. I am conversationally fluent in French. I am bilingual in Spanish and English and can interpret or translate fluently. I practice this skill daily in my current position on Long Island.
