I'm a warm, people-person with extensive communications experience, having been Communications Director for an Ericsson R&D unit for several years. In that role, I not only wrote and created content for the company Internets and Intranets, but I wrote speeches and I created presentations that managers could use in communicating corporate results to their teams around the world. I also spent many years in Strategic Marketing and as a financial analyst. I also have done my fair share of copywriting, editing, programming, social media marketing, and virtually anything online. I've pitched clients, negotiated deals, analyzed contracts, project managed, managed staff, and made many improvements or solved long-standing challenges. I'm very techie, and would welcome the opportunity to streamline processes! I taught myself how to code in PHP and am quite proficient at WordPress and many other software platforms. I'm an avid student, always looking to learn new things. My background is very broad because I moved continents a couple of times - to Europe and then back to the US 10 years later. I'm also fluent or conversant in several languages: English, Spanish, Swedish and French. As a consultant for the last few years, I've worked closely with C-Suite executives to provide support and solutions, as needed. I enjoy a role where I can use my various skillsets in a supporting capacity. I especially enjoy working toward specific goals, whether financial or with other metrics – which I enjoy setting up, as well. I'm described as kind, thoughtful, dependable, strong, detail-oriented, self-going, and intelligent.

I'm a multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Swedish, French) consultant with many years’ experience in many verticals. I am a dual national, American and Swedish, authorized to work in the US and in the European Union. I also spent over 10 years as a financial analyst consultant, often auditing contracts or doing special projects in problem areas for top executives. This experience gives me a combination of skills that most marketing/communications/business development people don't have. Everyone talks about ROI, but I can actually make connections to the client's financials, understand the concerns of the CEO and make meaningful contributions to strategies. I have in-depth experience with business planning, customer acquisition, competitive analysis, strategies, public relations, investor relations, marketing communications, internal and external communications, crisis communications, strategic marketing, online marketing, offline marketing, business development, copywriting, plus much more. I've spent the last 15 years in supporting managers and/or delivering white label solutions to established agencies. I am very enthusiastic about travel for both business and pleasure.  Clients find me warm, trustworthy, knowledgeable and willing to take the time to make them feel comfortable with recommendations to help them achieve their goals. I can make complicated concepts easier to understand. I'm extremely youthful and enthusiastic in my demeanor, while exuding confidence and maturity. I'm very techie and have built my own PC, among other nerdy leisure activities. I'm a member of Mensa since 1980 and have a genius IQ. I often see stated that this is something that I should not include in my resume. As a result of having been bullied for it as a child, I stuttered for over 15 years. Studying acting and performing on stage for 12 years helped me overcome those insecurities, while maintaining my compassion for the suffering of others.  I'm extremely down-to-earth, preferring words with fewer than three syllables. I look to find connections with everyone. My communication style varies with the audience. I’m always looking for connections. Therefore, I mention it here as a way to show vulnerability, not as an attempt at elitism – especially in the Boston metro area, where there are so many highly intelligent, creative people, which I love! I have lectured on strategic marketing at University of Miami, Florida International University Graduate School of Communications and most recently at the University of Utah. I recently moved to Boston from Los Angeles, but I have no encumbrances, so I welcome business travel opportunities of any length, as well as temporary relocation for work. I've been to the top in my field, earning well, working 18 hour days and realizing that for me satisfaction doesn’t materialize from the race to the top. While I expect to be compensated for my experience & expertise, money is not as important to me as the harmony and joy I experience working with a good group of people. What I'm looking for at this time in my life is to enjoy contributing within an organization led by honorable people, to help clients get excited about making the right decisions to reach their goals, to have work/personal balance, and to have fun. I believe that my depth and breadth of knowledge of not only business development & strategic marketing, but of being able to write compelling proposals and of developing business through a client-goal-centered approach could be valuable to your organization. I look forward to hearing from you! Best regards, Maggie Curran MaggieCurran.com Maggie@MaggieCurran.com
