"Retired" from creative services business ownership (commercial photography/graphic design/ad agency) where I earned twenty year Pennsylvania client loyalties with a combination of award-winning work and unwavering ethics. Creating national brand recognition and multi-million dollar returns - per campaign, not per client life - may have been a factor. After outliving forty-two Pennsylvania clients in a massive industry decline I discovered that subsequent underemployment (ie: VP Marketing in Texas where I helped a start-over grow from $5MM to $12MM in 15 months or graphics manager for 300,000 sq ft museum in the west where I engineered a $120,000 savings by bringing two large projects in-house) was not a fit for the ethics that helped earn those long-term client loyalties. While I no longer ride conveyor belts toward the open door of a blast furnace or climb vertical ladders on the side of oil storage tanks with 30 lbs of camera gear for annual report shots, I can still use my 30 years of experience to create marketing collateral that sells, annual reports that double as marketing tools, advertising that gets attention and, without the overhead of my previous 4,200 sq ft studio with the 8 ft logo over the door, do it cost-effectively.
