I have over ten years' professional experience editing/proofreading/writing print and online materials including brochures, ads, direct mail and other marketing collateral, newsletters, packaging, catalogs, long-form copy, web sites and email blasts. I have five years' full-time experience working as a copywriter/editor/proofreader in a fast-pasted agency setting with a heavy workload and tight deadlines. I am familiar with APA and Chicago Manual style guides and have a strong command of professional proofreading marks. I also have extensive experience proofreading content to ensure it meets individual clients' style guides. I work quickly but efficiently; I am somewhat of a grammar guru and have a meticulous eye for detail -- and a track record of ensuring consistent, accurate and error-free content and format for a broad range of communications deliverables. My confidence and proficiency with editing and writing comes in part from the three years' experience I gained during graduate school as a teaching fellow, teaching two college level writing-intensive courses per semester, including English Composition, Persuasive Writing and American Literature, and from the three years I spent as a SAT Verbal/Writing Tutor. I have a strong academic background centered around writing and editing; I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and Creative Writing at the Johns Hopkins University and went on to pursue an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Fiction) at the University of Houston's highly ranked Creative Writing graduate program. I'm an enthusiastic, reliable, responsible and flexible team-player. I've never missed a deadline or had a client unhappy with my work. Never.
