I'm a newcomer to Brooklyn, former Long Islander, but have been working in New York City for the past two years. I am a student at Baruch College studying Finance and Law, hoping to graduate and pursue Law school or Entrepreneurship (or both!). I have a passion for helping people and an extremely positive outlook on life. I'm a self supporting 21 year old who's been living away from her parents since she was 16. I am an extremely hard worker and love to learn and improve in anything I do. As for my skills, I would say my strengths lie in Office/Clerical/Planning, and Hospitality (Including Restaurants and Catering) and Management. Office/Clerical: I attended Gettysburg College for about 2 years and while there worked with the Admissions Office. I was working two jobs, as a tour guide and planning/overseeing day and overnight visits for prospective students. That involved not only organizational and clerical skills but also people skills as i was the direct contact for prospective students. For about a year during high school, I worked as a Clerical assistant at a psychiatrists office doing filing, general office work and insurance billing. Hospitality/Management: I started working in restaurants when I was only 17 years old as a hostess in an old school reservation only restaurant in Southampton, NY. I started serving when I was 18, For the past two years I've been working in NYC restaurants. I served and eventually bartended at a Fine Dining Italian Restaurant on the Upper East side called Petaluma for about a year. We had extensive wine list, therefore I have wine knowledge and while bartending learned a lot about cocktails and liquors. We also did private events, had large sections, and I became the lead server here. After leaving on great terms, I pursued an opportunity in entry level management as a manager at L&W Oyster company on Fifth Avenue in Flatiron. This was a job that combined my bartending, serving, and office skills while teaching me how to be a great manager. I was leading a team of 10 to 15 FOR staff, doing scheduling, ensuring permits were up to date and organized, opening and closing alone, controlling social media for the restaurant. I have been catering off site on long Island for various hotels in full tuxedo attire. Taking leadership in organizing and setting up the events, serving, bartending, or whatever needs to be done to ensure the client has an amazing event. Let me know if you have an opportunity or a need for a highly organized, personable, intelligent, smiling woman with ano extremely hard working and positive demeanor. Looking forward to hearing from you!
